Could your land be a home for our bees?

Mil Chonamara is looking to hear about possible apiary sites throughout Connemara. Every place is different, so Sean will review each suggestion individually; sending this form does not guarantee that a site will be suitable or used.
What can make a site suitable?
- Some shelter from prevailing winds, such as a hedge, wall or natural landform.
- Firm, reasonably level ground that does not regularly become waterlogged.
- Practical, safe access for occasional beekeeping visits in changing weather.
- A varied supply of flowering plants nearby, with land-use and spraying routines that can be discussed.
- A location where hive activity and access can be managed around people, livestock and nearby homes.
These are useful starting points, not a checklist or guarantee. There is no fixed minimum land area or hive count; the practical details matter more than a set size.
What happens after you get in touch?
- Send the location and whatever details you know.
- Sean reviews the information and may contact you with questions.
- If it seems worth exploring, a visit and access arrangements can be discussed.
- No placement happens unless the details and any terms are agreed directly beforehand.
This is an invitation to start a conversation, not an offer of rent, honey, insurance or any other benefit. Nothing is agreed by submitting the form.
