Irish Heather Honey from Connemara

Where it comes from

Mil Chonamara keeps bees across the bogland, rough pasture and upland ground of Connemara. Its heather honey is harvested in early autumn when heather is part of the local forage. The honey is lightly strained and minimally handled. The exact character of any batch depends on the plants and conditions of that season; no laboratory-confirmed single-flower percentage is claimed here.

How does it differ from summer blossom?

Compared with our lighter, golden mixed summer blossom honey, this autumn honey is described as rich and aromatic. Heather itself flowers, so heather honey is botanically also a blossom honey. Here “blossom” is simply the name of our mixed summer variety.
